ABOUT THIS VIRTUAL WINE EXPLORATION:
Hot days call for thirst-quenching wines! Join Certified Wine Educator and wine speaker/consultant, Mary Beth Vierra of Crush Course to discover some lesser-known white wines perfect for slaking your thirst on a warm Summer day by the pool, under your lunch umbrella or on the beach.

In this highly informative education and (optional) tasting, meet at least 3 Interesting White Varieties to add to your ice bucket! You’ll discover the characteristics that make them “vins de soif” (thirst-quenching wines) and learn more about their styles, the land where they grow and the foods they favor.

Mary Beth conducts this event via Zoom at an introductory price of $30* per person. Crush Course helps you navigate the world of wine to discovery, confidence, and expertise.

WHO IS IT FOR?
Virtual Wine Explorations are designed for discovery and learning. Great for wine lovers of all levels, from beginners to industry professionals. Mary Beth’s style is engaging and approachable. These fun learning events also provide deeper insights that boost fluency and confidence for those in beverage hospitality and service.

TIME:  
Each virtual class is 1 hour, including time for Q&A

WINES (Optional): 
You’re invited to taste along with Mary Beth. Or, sit back, relax, and soak it all in. You don’t need the wines to enjoy and learn! (*Wines not included in the class price). After you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email with Mary Beth’s wine list to purchase if you want to taste along or feel free to open similar wines you have on hand. She makes an effort to select quality wines available from one online seller or are fairly available at local stores. For online shipping, allow at least 2-3 days for delivery.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Discover at least 3 lesser-known delicious white wines that are juicy and thirst-quenching- perfect for warm days on the patio, camping, or with a plate of fresh fish outdoors

• Characteristics of white wines that are deliciously drinkable on their own that you sip all afternoon
• What to look for / how to identify quenchable whites
• How wine temperature changes your perception of style and structure
• A few food pairing tips for Summer snacking while sipping
• Deeper discovery of (at least) 3 thirst-quenching white wines and why you’ll love them. Example wines:
  • Vermentino, Lugana (Turbiana), Albariño (vinho verde), Cote du Rhone, Roussanne, Verdicchio, Grüner Veltliner
  •     *Final Wine List will be emailed to registered participants

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?
The virtual experience is held over Zoom Meetings.  You’ll need an internet connection and ability to stream audio and video.  After registering, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link, instructions, and the wines list ** You don’t need a Zoom account to participate; just click it to join. But best to test your computer’s streaming capabilities in advance.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
For the Zoom:
internet access and ability to stream audio and video. In order to join us with your own video  (optional, but encouraged so you can better interact with Mary Beth), you’ll need a functioning camera on your computer or phone as well.

For the (optional) Tasting:  If you choose to taste along
1-4 wines
1-4 wine stems (glasses)
Plain crackers and water to cleanse your palate

WHAT’S NEXT?
Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive a confirmation email from Mary Beth or Crush Course.  *Assure you give us a working email address when registering/paying for the course.  You’ll then receive a follow up email with further instructions and a wine list, plus two reminder emails:  one about 24 hours before the course, and one an hour before.
