By Mary Beth Vierra, Crush Course
(1.5 hr) Pro Seminar

What is an appellation and what is an AVA?  Are they the same?  How might US labelling laws impact winemaking decisions, pricing, and of course, wine style?

Join Mary Beth Vierra of Crush Course for an open discussion on these questions while she shines a light on – Why region matters: how differences in location, climate, and terrain point to wine style and price differences. An (optional) guided tasting helps highlight a few appellational differences.

Crush Course helps you navigate the world of wine to discovery, confidence, and expertise.

For those in the trade wanting to become conversant in questions surrounding AVAs, appellational labelling and how climatic and regional differences predict wine style and price differences. This fascinating subject and the (optional) comparative tasting will interest and absolutely be accessible to  the intermediate wine enthusiast as well.  Fantastic support in study for wine certifications.
